This is our last tutored tasting until 7th September so please come along and compare 2 Champagnes, Diebolt de Valois £35 made solely from Chardonnay, a white sparkling wine made from white grapes  Wines & Spirits - 2008 : Top 100 Wineries of the Year
The green label blanc de blancs is a standout in its price category for its terrifically racy chalky character.
and the other Marc Hebrart Premier Cru £25.95 a white sparkling wine made from the famous blend of 2 red grapes and 1 white grapes, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. This is an exciting NEW producer in the Vallée de la Marne producing 75% Pinot Noir from the great 1er Cru vineyards of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ Avenay Val d’Or and Bisseuil and 25% Chardonnay from the Grand Crus Chouilly and Oiry in the Côte des Blancs.

Cuvee Eugenie, Cremant de Limoux £10.95 This cuvée was created to honor Eugénie Limouzy, the great aunt of Georges and Roger Antech. Its main expression is that of the Chardonnay grape allied with Chenin and Mauzac. £10.95

The fizz of the moment is Prosecco and we have 2 to compare, the lightly sparkling Frizzante from Ca Morlin £9.50 which is also found at Jamie’s Italian and a pink fizz made in Prosecco but from the Lagrein grape which is drinking nicely at Martin Lam’s Ransome’s Dock restaurant Bortolotti, £12.50

Do. de Triennes was founded in 1990 by Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac along with Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and their Parisien friend Michel Macaux. The Rosé is a blend of old vine Cinsualt, Syrah, Merlot. Triennes Rose £9.95

Bandol rosés are enchanting. Their roundness and generosity make them different from other rosé wines. Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault combine to give, by direct pressing, a well-built, refined, pale-coloured wine with delicate salmon hues. With all the subtle shades that enhance their colour, they voluptuously express the specificity of their terroir. We are showing the Lafran Veyrolles Bandol Rose @ £14.95

We also have the St Clair Pinot Noir rose from New Zealand to try - an affordable and delicious alternative to rival any Sancerre Rose at £9.95. Staying in the New World to finish, our palate cleanser will be Moscato Rose from Innocent Bystander in Victoria, Australia. A sparkling gem at £5.95 for a half bottle.
